How to enable Halo Connect for BetterConsult
The way BetterConsult connects with Best Practice is changing. Currently, BetterConsult uses the BetterConsult Connector on your practice’s server.
Best Practice have introduced Halo Connect as the new standard for connecting with third party developers like HealthShare. Switching to Halo Connect is required as part of a Bp software upgrade.
To continue using BetterConsult, it is essential that each practice performs the following two actions:
- Run the latest Bp Monthly Data Update
- Follow the instructions below to ‘enable’ Halo access for BetterConsult
Step by step instructions
Note: These steps need to be completed for each Practice Location
Step 1 – Monthly Data Update
Run the monthly data pack update provided by Bp using the instructions sent by Bp for the update.
Step 2 – Enable Halo in Bp
1. Open the Bp configuration page.
2. Select ‘database’ on the left of the configuration window and then select ‘setup third-party integrations.'
3. Once the 'set up third-party integrations' window appears, enter 'HealthShare' in the 'Search for' textbox, and ensure both the original 'HealthShare' option and the new 'HealthShare (via Halo Connect)' option are ticked.
4. Save the configuration change – Best Practice is now configured to work successfully with BetterConsult’s Halo implementation.
If the Pairing Code screen appears, please click close and dismiss the window and it will not affect enabling Halo Connect for BetterConsult.
